Eh, probably my last visit here. I used to love sitting on the couches in here to read, while having a cuppa and panini. They have removed half of the seating area (including the couches) to make a bigger kitchen. Now it's just table seating.
The service was slow and the cakes were dry. Their card machine was down, so we didn't get to order all that we wanted. My kids were with me and had already picked out their cakes, or I would have left for another place when I saw the couches were gone. -

Clearly one of a small chain & I doubt they make the cakes themselves but pleasant enough.
Service a wee bit slow initially & I had the wrong cake brought but the tea order was at least correct, unlike a couple of others I placed over the weekend. Card machine out of action which must have been inconvenient for a few folk so hopefully that'll be fixed by now. -

I came here this evening with a friend as I'd been walking past the window and staring at all the beautiful cakes on offer.
First off, the "cafe" doesn't take card, meaning I had to walk back out and get cash.
We came at seven pm on a Tuesday, hardly a busy time for a coffee shop in Partick, there were four other customers. However it took almost ten minutes to receive what we ordered.
The order came to the table and it was wrong, my cake had eggshell in it, and my coffee was lukewarm,(and I'm not even one of those who like it steaming hot!)
My friends coffee order was wrong, she paid extra for a shot of caramel which was not added to the coffee.
The coffee itself was awful, I didn't realize it was so hard to make a simple cappuccino?
The phrase "if McDonald's did cafes" came to mind, the inside looks like that of a low budget fast food chain, matched by the sound of a city centre gym.
The cakes look nice, but leave a lot to be desired, the coffee is third or fourth class, the staff were friendly, but the service was very slow.
Perhaps it is because this place is new and needs time to work out the kinks, however it needs a massive upheaval in my eyes, I will be back to try again in December, hopefully there will be a miracle because Partick is in desperate need of a GOOD coffee house that opens past five. -

Popped in here for some take-away sweet treats and a coffee at the weekend. This was a Sunday late morning and the window which is usually brimming with sugary delights looked a bit bare...so maybe we caught them on an 'off day'...
The choice is usually pretty amazing with huge flavoured meringues, cream cakes of all kinds, strawberry & other tarts, pastries & loads of fancy looking cakes. They also serve coffee & paninis too.
As I said on this particular day they didn't have much choice but I picked out what looked like a caramel eclair & my non-furry boy had some orange slice thingy. I then asked for a macchiato & the guy serving told me that he could only make a cappuccino or latte as that's all he'd been shown how to make! Ooft. I could've got all lead barista on his butt by saying 'Well, a macchiato is actually easier/quicker to make than either of those...' but I just left it. I think he gave us a wee discount on the cakes for not being able to serve me the coffee as he said one price when we 1st enquired into the prices & then he charged us slightly less (40p) when we paid. That was nice of him...or it was a mistake! Either way the cakes we chose weren't very expensive (around £4 for the 2).
I did feel for the guy as he was probably quite new and said he was still waiting for some lady to turn up (the lady that DOES know how to make all the coffees apparently!) and she was already 30 minutes late...eek. I've been in that situation myself when I was working in a (very) busy coffee shop, and it sucks.
The cakes were okay ~ I was disappointed with mine as instead of being filled with cream it had some strange custard type stuff inside & there was LOTS of it & It was a bit too much for me. The NFB said his cake was just 'alright'.
I will be back though as I think this MUST'VE been an off day & they do usually have LOTS more choice. The wee cafe/seating area inside also looks quite nice & if they stay open late & serve good coffee (eventually!) then it will be a great place to come with my friends for a coffee, cake & catch up.
NB: They serve all Halal meat/products here.
